Një projekt zvicerian mbështet fotografët e brezit të ri, në Shqipëri
Në malësitë e padepërtueshme të Shqipërisë, njerëzit jetojnë akoma sipas zakoneve të vjetra. Së pari, të izoluar përgjatë regjimit stalinist e së dyti, rrethuar nga malet, këta njerëz, tani po i afrohen ngadalë kohës sonë.
Drejt kësaj rruge është nisur edhe fotografi zvicerian Gian Vailt: Ai drejton një kurs për fotografë shqiptarë dhe udhëton me ta drejt krahinës së Shkodrës për tek Fototeka Marubi. ‘Projekt 5.6” është deri tani, e vetmja shkollë fotografie në Shqipëri.
Në fokus të këtij ekskursioni mësimor gjenden fotografitë e Pjetër Marubit dhe pasardhësve të tij. Brilanta Kadillari është 22 vjeçe. Ajo dëshiron të jetë nga të parat fotografe profesioniste që do të fitojë të ardhurat jetësore me anë të fotografisë. Fotografitë e Marubit dhe të pasardhësve të tij nuk i përshtateshin sistemit komunist të asaj kohe. Koleksioni Marubi u shpronësua dhe u mbajt i kyçur për vite të tëra.

Arkivi Marubi, një trashëgimi e kulturës botërore
Sot, kjo fototekë ndodhet në një oborr të pasëm të një pallati, megjithëse vazhdon t’i përkasë trashëgimisë së kulturës botërore. “Gjatë kohës së komunizmit, këtu, fotografia ra në gjumë”, thotë fotografi Gian Vailt. “Ndaj mendoj se studentët tanë kanë mundësinë të jenë pionerë në këtë krahinë’. Përkundrazi, studentët njihnin kohë më parë prejardhjen e fotografisë shqiptare.
Fototeka Marubi drejtohet nga një bashkëpunëtore e vjetër e nipit të Marubit: Gegë Marubi, i cili vdiq më 1984. “Në kohën e Pjetër Marubit këtu zotëronte një atmosphere konservatorizmi fanatik”, thotë Semiha Osmani, drejtoreshë e fototekës Marubi. “ Por shkodranët kishin shumë dëshirë të fotografoheshin. Marubi i merrte ata në studio dhe improvizonte me ta fotografi të ndryshme. Me ato fotografi ai theu tabu të kohës së tij”. Marubi ishte tepër i kujdesshëm me portretet e realizuara, kur fotografonte gra myslimane pa perçe, edhe kur ai nisej të thyente tabu.
Marubët dolën jashtë ateliesë së tyre dhe fotografuan jetën e vërtetë. Djali i adoptuar i Marubit, Keli, ishte anëtar i lëvizjes patriotike “Rilindja” , e cila luftonte për një Shqipëri të pavarur nga perandoria osmane. Kjo nuk përkonte me imazhin historik të stalinizmit në atë kohë. Kështu që, diktatori Enver Hoxha, bëri të mundur retushimin e disa fotografive.

Një çerek milioni negativësh, ruhen në arkiv prej më shumë se 100 vjetësh. Vajza e Marubit të fundit ndihmon në dixhitalizimin e tyre. Ndërsa negativët në xham trajtohen nga specialistë. Por për këtë punë nuk ka pagesë. Si në kohët e Marubit, Shqipëria gjendet sërish në transformim. Sot Shqipëria është një shoqëri demokratike dhe ka nevojë për fotografë të pavarur, të cilët do të prodhojnë imazhe autentike të tokës shqiptare ashtu si edhe të botës - fotografë si Brilanta Kadillari. “Më pëlqejnë shumë punët e Marubit - sidomos portretet”, kështu thotë fotografja e brezit të ri. “Ato janë autentike, edhe megjithëse të realizuara kohë më parë, stili i tyre mbetet gjithmonë aktual.
Pasardhësit e Marubit
Grupi i fotografëve udhëton thellë drejt malësisë veriore, drejt Oroshit. Fshati i vogël i Oroshit ka qenë një rezidencë e klanit të fuqishëm të Gjonmarkajve, ku edhe sot mund të udhëtohet vetëm në këmbë. Fotografët e rinj duan të realizojnë portrete të pasardhësve të këtij klani e të zbulojnë fotografi të Marubit, të humbura nëpër male. Dhe me të vërtetë: Gjokë Gjonmarkaj sjell disa fotografi Marubi, të parardhësve të tij. “Mendoj se kjo foto është realizuar më 1928”, shprehet Gjokë Gjonmarkaj. “Kjo këtu është nëna ime dhe vëllai i saj, xhaxhai im. Është një kujtim për pasardhësit e saj. Marubi ishte fotografi më i njohur në Shqipëri dhe jashtë saj. Sepse tek ne nuk kishte më të mire. Po pa diskutim edhe sot tek ai do të drejtohesha.”


Gian Vaitl“Ne po perpiqemi t’u japim fotografëve të rinj, pajisjet e duhura për një karrierë profesionale si në art, reportazh, shtyp, apo gjithkund”, thotë fotografi Gian Vailt. “Dua të tregoj anën autentike e njëkohësisht tradicionale të Shqipërisë”, thotë fotografja e re, Brilanta Kadillari. Mendoj , se kështu do të hap një faqe të re, të fotografisë shqiptare. Për mua, kjo është shumë herë më argëtuese se sa fotografia e modës, të cilën njerëzit e kanë përzemër aq shumë.” Brilanta Kadillari dhe shokët e saj studentë janë brezi i parë që do të skicojnë një imazh të ri të Shqipërisë - nga jashtë, por ndoshta edhe më e rëndësishme, brenda saj. Pas dekadash kolektivizimi të detyruar dhe mungese individualiteti, fotografitë e tyre janë thyerje tabush dhe elementë të rëndësishëm në rrugën drejt një shoqërie, pluraliste, demokratike. Sepse ata, si kurse Marubëtt, bëjnë të qartë se Shqipëria është një komb i mëvetësishëm, me anë të historive, traditave dhe fytyrave të saj të ndryshme.

Projektim fotosh ne sheshet e Korces / Photo screening at Korca

Para se te nisem per ne Theth, ne gjurmet e memories dhe te gazetares amerikane te fillimit te shekullit te 20, R.W. Lane, dua te them dy fjale per shkollen e veres ne Korce: keto dite me nje projektim fotosh per publikun korcar, perfundoi me sukses shkolla verore e fotografise, e cila u organizua me mbeshtetjen e vete kryetarit te bashkise se Korces, z. Niko Peleshi dhe te disa biznesmeneve lokale. Vete kryetari i bashkise vizitoi nje pasdite grupin e studenteve gjate nje seance trajnimi.
Per kenaqesine e qytetareve, fotot iu prezantua publikut gjate nje mbremjeje te kaluar ndryshe ne shoqerine e nje video projektimi ne nje nga sheshet e qytetit.
Shume shpejt fotografite e zgjedhura te ketij aktiviteti do te jene ne tregun e qytetit si kartolina, per te gjithe ata qe do te duan te marrin me vete nje pjese te ketij qyteti mikprites.

Before leaving Tirana for a journey to Theth, looking for memories and signs left from R. W. Lane, an American journalist form the beginning of the 20 century, I would like to say something about summer school in Korca: Some days ago the first summer school on photography celebrated successfully its last day with a photo screening for the public of Korca. The activity was supported by Korca Mayor, Mr. Niko Peleshi and a group of local businessmen. The mayor himself spent an afternoon together with the students and trainers of the summer school of photography.
That evening was a different evening for the citizens of Korca, enjoying some moments of their quite evening in the company of photo projections made by the group of young students. Soon some of their photos will be printed as postcards for all of them who would like to take with them a piece form this friendly city.

Marubi5.6 in the Mountains 2

To come back on the Marubi week of Projekt 5.6 here two exemples of old Marubi Pictures and new pictures in the same family. The Idea of the week was to meet peoples in Orozh wich own original Photos of there familys  from the last century made by a Marubi Photografer. 

For me very strange was the idea just to go there and visit the peoples instead of call them and ask them if ti will be ok to visit them,  but i find out very quick here is another time and time understanding, and very important a different kind of hospitality.

So the system here is : the first person in the village who meets you at the street is taking care for you, invites you to visit his house, or brings you to the desired adress.

In our case it was a forester with a donkey, who brings us to the family of Gjonmarku, the own pictures from Marubi and showed us the Frame with there family memories.

One of our students, Brilanta started to make pictures, but inside the house so that we men where sitting in the garden drinking different drinks and talk with the "Kapedan" about life in albania.

Brilantas pictures are focused on the sitser of the "Kapedan" and on the daugter of him, and a group Portrait of the family.

Our other students Alketa, Erzen and Ornela visitet different familys in Orozh and what we all saw on the cameras also had a interessting time with people of the village. They where accompanied by Jutta Klosi Benzenberg.

In the evening we went back to Reshen, the net bigger town to sleep in a catholic monastery, wich was very confortable. There we select and print out the pictures for the people in Orozh.

These Pictures we brougt back to Orozh in the afternoon the next day, and as you see on the pictures below the "modells" liked the photos of themselves very much. Some students even started egain to do pictures of there "modells" and recognised very quick that now the "ice" between photografer and "modell" was totaly broken and the pictues could be much more personel and open from the modells side. Here you see Photografie is much about Trust and good relationsship between Photografer an "Modell".

On the way back to Tiana we all hade a very good feeling about our work the last two days, and if there is one word for our students in this situation this will be  "I N F E C T E D", as on the first poster from Prjekt 5.6 in 2006.

We presented all this works on saturday to all the other students who had to stay in tirana for there work an could not join us in Orozh. Maybe we will see some landscapes or cityportraits in the marubi style in the next time on this blog or on the webside of projekt56.com

All our work in Shkodra and Orozh was accompained and filmed by the wonderfull two filmmakers Phillip and Max from Berlin Germany. It will be a Documentary about our work on the german austrian swiss TV station 3SAT and on the swiss TV station SF DRS. As soon we definitifly know when they will send it i will inform you here on this blog, maybe on swiss TV is will be on the 6. of August 22 50.

Here again thank you thousend times to all of you involved in this projekt starting by the studends, the staff, the people of Orozh,  the director of the Marubi Collection, the Ministery of Culture of Albania, the filmcrew from Germany, Eliane Rutishauser in Zürich and last but not least the "silent" supporter from pro Helvetia in Tirana and Switzerland
